How long does the kitchen refacing process take?

How long does the kitchen refacing process take? The average length of time the refacing process takes is based on a few conditions.

  1. First is based on door count. Average kitchen size is 20-25 doors with 5-8 drawer fronts

  2. Next is crown moulding and trim optional installation. 2-3 hrs

  3. Counter top installation option. 2-3 hrs

  4. Cabinet modifications. Each modification takes 1-2 hours. Example... cut down stove or fridge cabinet.

  5. Rollout installation or drawer replacement. 1/2-3/4 per drawer

  6. Is the customer removing the doors and drawer fronts. 1 hr

  7. Is the customer removing and disconnecting the sink and, countertop?, 1-1-1/2

These points are the major time consuming parts of the refacing job.

, ,So an average kitchen with the number of doors and drawers fronts listed will take one fully experienced kitchen person to reface a kitchen,3-4 days working ,8 hours a day to complete.

If the consumer can do some of the work. At least a half a day can be saved in time.,

Again every installer works at a different pace based on his or her experience.

Kitchen Storage Ideas

Kitchen Storage IdeasA lot of the older style kitchens were designed with a separate dining room. Now we remove the walls to create great rooms.

This kitchen had a wall removed, then we added a refrigerator  with two pantries to give it a built in refrigerator look. Take a look at more kitchen storage ideas

A lot of kitchen designers need to ask their customers' if this might be an option for them. A lot of customers really do not give it a lot of thought. Keep in mind a qualified carpenter should inspect the room to see if the walls are load bearing. This will have a major impact on what can and can not be done.

Selecting kitchen cabinet hardware

When exploring kitchen cabinet hardware ideas, your first task should be to decide how closely you want your hardware and the cabinets themselves to match. Some kitchen designs are beginning to display personality through eclectic and artistic approaches to kitchen hardware.

Pulls and handles made from antique buttons, glass or crystal will create a truly unique look that's sure to catch the eye and spark conversation. Creative solutions like rope, rubber, glass or crystal can add flair to an otherwise staid space.

Don't be afraid to experiment with different styles—one of the great things about cabinet accessories is that they can be swapped in an out depending on form and functionality.Whether you choose a more traditional look or decide to add some art to your kitchen cabinets with eclectic hardware choices, be sure to express your style ideals through these small but impactful design details.

To determine Kitchen Hardware cost we average per knob or handle to be $5.00- $10.00 per unit (based on Low end budget)

Kitchen Cabinet Refacing Real Meaning

Kitchen Cabinet Refacing is the smartest way to renovate your kitchen cabinets. In the Kitchen Refacing industry many contractors are confusing the term refacing with refinishing. Painting or staining existing cabinet doors, drawers, boxes or frames is not refacing it is refinishing. When refacing we use veneers or laminates to cover the exposed areas of the cabinetry to matched to the new door and drawers. The homeowners has a wide selection of different door styles, counter top surfaces and storage devices to choose from. Again your kitchen is not just being covered with a coat of paint or re-stained. It is being refaced with new doors, hardware, laminates, veneers and counter tops. This is truly the kitchen refacing procedure.
